History and fiction intertwine. Through intuitive communication between historical figures from different eras, we learn about each of their biographies and individual trajectories. Black Women in History reveals the strength of the black female universe, recognizing these women's contribution to the richness of Brazilian identity.
Pilot Episode Synopsis - Nzinga and Neusa Borges: The passage of time and the Atlantic Ocean unite the trajectories of two women from different eras. Neusa Borges, a contemporary actress, and Nzinga Mbandi, the legendary queen of Ndongo and Matamba, explore the convergence of their stories and challenges, with courage and strategies in the fight against colonial oppression and its impacts today. Themes such as identity, resistance, and the black female legacy draw parallels and come together to reveal their lives.
Release date: November 16th, 2024, on Rede Globo Nordeste.
In 2026, it will be shown on Canal Brasil.
