Pretas da História (Black Women in History)

BLACK WOMEN IN HISTORY is a short documentary series. It features black women who have been overshadowed and overlooked by mainstream history. The series has 10 episodes, each lasting 3 minutes, and features black women such as Dandara dos Palmares, Esperança Garcia, Tereza de Benguela, Rosa Egipcíaca, and Páscoa Vieira, among others. The stories of these women reveal the strength of the black female universe. Through the presentation of the lives of the Black Women of History, their contribution to the richness of Brazilian identity will be recognized.

Release date:

July 20, 2023 on TVPE. In the same year, it was shown on TVU (Recife) and is currently available on Maat Produções' YouTube channel and on the free streaming service Bombozila.
